Inline vs Offline Verification
Inline verifiers, like the Cognex DataMan 475V, sit on the production line and grade every barcode at speed – the right choice when 100% inspection is required for traceability or regulatory compliance. Offline verifiers, like the DataMan 475VS or LVS 9510, are bench-top devices for sampling, audit and incoming-goods QC.
Cognex and LVS verifiers grade barcodes against ISO 15415 (2D), ISO 15416 (1D) and ISO/IEC TR 29158 (DPM), and produce GS1-recognised reports for audit trails. Handheld options cover field and line-side use; the LVS 9585 DPM is built for direct part marking on metal, plastic and other industrial substrates.
