Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Role

As a suitably qualified Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be the subject matter expert in the mechanical design and project management of complex large scale automation systems that we deliver to our wide range of customers. Starting with a blank canvas, you will work with the cross functional engineering team in bringing a concept through all stages of development and delivering and commissioning a fully validated automation process. Our customers are global, so an ability to travel on occasion is desirable.

Responsibilities with minimum 4 – 7 years experience in the following

  • Using Solidworks in a PDM environment, design of mechatronic equipment integrating robotics, servo systems, pneumatics, transfer systems, vision, machine guarding.
  • Point of contact for customer and will own the scheduling of design reviews and delivering regular project progress updates, both internally and with customer.
  • Pneumatic circuit schematic design desirable
  • Ability to work hands on when required
  • Generation of 2D part drawing, material selection and management of machine shops in the procurement of bespoke machined parts
  • Experience in collaboration on completing risk assessments and knowledge of CE documentation framework and completion of technical files.
  • Ability to generate design specifications from a customer URS and follow through to execution of IQ, OQ, PQ validation protocols.
